Itching to let your competitive side loose? Got a hankering for some gamer-on-gamer battling? You’re in luck.
Press Start: Irvine 2015 is kicking off 36 continuous hours of LAN party goodness this weekend.
Gamers from around Southern California will be converging on the Bren Events Center in Irvine, California from 10 a.m. May 9th to 10 p.m. May 10th to take part in one of the largest gaming events to hit the area in years.
With a $30,000 prize pool, gamers looking to show off their competitive side are invited to take part in several different tournaments for games such as StarCraft 2, League of Legends and Super Smash Brothers: Melee.
“While our goal is to create the ultimate festival experience for players of all skill levels, our tournaments are the highlight of the weekend,” says Kevin He, Press Start’s Tournament Director.
Casual tournaments, industry panels, special guests and vendor stations are also available for gamers that aren’t looking to duke it out for the big bucks. Attendees might even see some PG! and PCP members taking part in events like the paper airplane contest. It is simply impossible to defeat Cody’s patented design.
Competitor passes start at $39 and are bring-your-own-computer/console, but spectators passes are free. Be sure to check out Press Start’s website for more information, including event registration. We hope to see all of our readers there!
