The legend of Batman continues this week as Warner Bros. Animation releases Batman Unlimited: Animal Instinct on BluRay, DVD, and digitally everywhere. Although audiences may be more used to the darker and more intense Batman from Warner Bros. and DC’s usually straight-to-video releases, Batman Unlimited has lightened the tone for a larger family viewership, but is keeping all the action of Batman’s previous television stints. In this animated adventure the cape crusader faces off against a menagerie of DC’s most animalistic antagonists: The Penguin, Cheetah, and Silverback. This threat to Gotham is so huge that even the Dark Knight won’t be able to handle it by himself, so enter Nightwing, Red Robin, Green Arrow, and of course The Flash to help save the day!
While at this year’s WonderCon in Anaheim we got to catch up with the incredible voice talent of Roger Craig Smith (Batman), Yuri Lowenthral (Red Robin), Will Friedle (Nightwing) and writer Heath Corson to talk to them about DC’s latest animated feature and the return of Batman to the all-ages audience.

Will Friedle is a cult legend of both the small screen and the animation world. Not only is Will a TGIF alum for his role as the big brother Eric Matthews on Boy Meets World, but he’s also well known for his roles as the voice of Ron Stoppable from Kim Possible, Lion-O in the short lived Thundercats show, and he’s even a previous, or maybe even a future, Gothamite when he voiced Terry McGinnis in Batman Beyond. Will has been a voice acting staple in the “geekier” shows that we’re sure people are familiar with, including roles such as Bumblebee in Transformers Prime and Transformers: Robots in Diguise, Deadpool in Ultimate Spider-man, and he is slated to reprise his role as the voice of Star-Lord in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy.
Heath Corson has been a pillar of the DC Animated universe since Flashpoint took fans to a more New 52 influenced world. Since 2014 Heath has written Justice League War, Batman: Assault on Arkham, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, and now this week’s Batman Unlimited: Animal Instinct. We’ve actually spoken with Heath several times before but always had audio problems so we’re excited to finally have him be a part of our interview collection.
