E3 2015 hasn’t even officially begun and yet we’ve been treated with a slew of trailers for upcoming games. One trailer in particular caught my attention…Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was a standout and it might also be the very last time we see a Metal Gear trailer with series creator Hideo Kojima still as lead on this legendary property. Past trailers have always captured the tone of the Metal Gear game being promoted and I can’t help but think that that is in part due to Kojima’s influence. This trailer remains consistent to his vision and does not disappoint. Hit the jump to check out the trailer!

There’s just something about Hideo Kojima’s work that just forces you to watch and become mesmerized by his vision. The Metal Gear franchise is truly something to behold. It isn’t something that just anyone could create, it’s something special and more unique than that. Hideo Kojima is Metal Gear and the series simply doesn’t exist without him. Now, is that something that’ll stop Konami from trying to continue the series in Kojima’s absence? Who knows… Personally, I think Konami should just step away from Metal Gear because tweaking it will only lead to more ill-will and probably end up pushing the company to move away from video games. Only time will tell…
