Conquerors, part 3! It all comes down to this… the fate of the Autobots, the survival of the human race, and the existence of a post-war Cybertron depends on the two greatest heroes in Transformers history: Buster the dog and D.0.C. the drone.

So there was a lot going on in this issue. Garrison Blackrock is still trying to get answers about his past and who he is, and let’s be honest, he’s started to sound several socks short of a full drawer.
As it turns out though, he’s got reason. What I was writing off as paranoia turns out to be much more disturbing. The answer surprised me, mostly because I didn’t think what they’ve done was even slightly possible. I’m looking forward to next issue where we get a little more detail, because this issue was just enough to make me go “Wait…what, they…what?”
There’s also the question as to where Jazz, Sky Lynx and company have been. We get to find out a little more about that, but more importantly we get to see Andrew Griffith’s excellent illustration of several Cybertronians who have been hurt, scared, imprisoned, and now really really angry. It’s fun to watch. These guys are done.
Most importantly, let’s face it: we get translations for D.0.C. and Buster: a drone and a dog, who’ve up till now only spoken in beeps and woofs, respectively.
We’re given D.0.C.’s sort of heads-up display, which gives us the idea that he’s smarter than a lot of the Autobots think, but we’ve suspected that for a while. (There’s also a quick in-joke for G1 fans about Seekers, but I’ll let you find that one out for yourself.)
As for Buster, her interactions remind me of an old Farside cartoon, and I have no doubt this is exactly how dogs (and cats) see the world, and it’s pretty hilarious.
