It’s not all panels, autographs, and shopping at this year’s NC Comicon: Oak City. The convention organizers have also scheduled some extra entertainment for anyone looking for a little more competition, cosplay, and video games (including the new boxing video game hosted by Buster Douglas) in their weekend. Come play, “The Wild Tarney Show!” A “Price is Right” style game show that takes the your favorite comic books and movies, and turns them into games of chance where you, yes YOU could win big!

Knockout Boxing Competition Hosted by Buster Douglas – Saturday March 17th @ 12:00 PM, Sunday March 18th @ 3:00 PM
Buster Douglas, former heavy-weight champion and the man who knocked out Mike Tyson, will introduce and judge a competition of his video game! Audience members will challenge each other, with the final winner of the tournament playing a game against Buster himself for the main prize!

The D&B Fun Patrol is bringing prizes, games, and your favorite stand-up arcade video games to the NCC: Oak City! Spin the wheel or pound some buttons, but make sure you stop by and win candy, coupons, and other amazing prizes!

NCComicon Oak City 2018 Cosplay
We have TWO amazing opportunities for cosplayers this year, The Cosplay Craftsmanship Contest and the Cosplay Showcase.
Cosplay Craftsmanship Contest
Prejudging will take place throughout the weekend, on Saturday 11am – 5pm (Lunch Break 1pm-1:30pm) and on Sunday 11am-3:00pm (Lunch Break 1pm-1:30pm) in Cosplay City, on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS. Come early to make sure you get your costume judged! All costumes submitted must be prejudged in order to participate in the craftsmanship contest.
Each contestant that places will receive a certificate marking their accomplishment, as well as a special prize.
The contestant(s) winning “Best In Show” will receive a certificate, a trophy, and a special prize.
Cosplay Showcase
Let the world see the hero (or villain) you are on the inside, bursting through for this special occasion at the NCComicon COSPLAY SHOWCASE Sunday afternoon at 5pm, strut your stuff on stage with the best of them. Whether you made your own costume from scratch, thrifted it together, or bought it from a pro, show off your look and be proud in your second skin!
All those who wish to participate may! The line up will begin at 4:30pm at the Main Stage Area!
The contestant(s) winning the Showcase in their category will receive a super nifty certificate!
The Cosplay Craftsmanship Contest Winners and Showcase Winner(s) will be named at the end of the Showcase!
