PROSPECT, starring Pedro Pascal and Jay Duplass, premieres tomorrow

I had the opportunity to attend the Prospect panel from Gunpowder & Sky’s sci-fi label DUST. Based on the clips that I saw, this movie feels fresh, yet familiar. It’s a nice change of pace to have a movie that isn’t based on a pre-existing franchise or is a remake of another film. Yet, the gritty and somewhat nostalgic feel of this movie is reminiscent of Alien or some of the earlier 80’s sci fi movies. The look and feel of the movie relies on practical effects versus green screen or cgi. Since the audience won’t be distracted by overwhelming visuals, it will be interesting to see if this movie is able to keep their attention with the story.

Here’s the official word from the creators:

On Saturday, October 27th, PROSPECT Stars Jay Duplass (“Transparent”), Sophie Thatcher (“The Exorcist”), and filmmakers Chris Caldwell and Zeek Earl attended Los Angeles Comic Con where they debuted this exclusive clip from the film, which also stars Pedro Pascal (“Narcos”, Wonder Woman 1984 and rumored to star in the upcoming Star Wars series). In the clip, Cee (Sophie Thatcher) gives Ezra (Pedro Pascal) an offer.

PROSPECT from Gunpowder & Sky’s sci-fi label DUST, hits theaters in LA and NY THIS Friday, November 2nd, and lands nationwide on November 9th.
