As soon as the newest Dune trailer dropped we had some thoughts (i.e. mostly incoherent shrieks about the casting.) So we thought we’d post the conversation for posterity. (Hopefully we’ll one day look back at this post and say “WE WERE RIGHT, IT WAS THE BEST DUNE MOVIE EVER.”)

Still not sure a movie is the right vehicle for Dune.
There’s so much going on in the story, I think it needs to be a series.

I’m not 100 percent sure, but it looks like most of the shots from the movie could have taken place in the first half of the book.
Maybe they’re going to make this at least a two-parter

Most of the time I think splitting up the book is a cash grab. This time it’d make sense. You could make a whole movie and end it with Paul being accepted as the Fremen’s leader and stop there.
