Review – Transformers: Galaxies #9

And there it is. The threat. Same as it ever was.

We wrap up the latest arc this week, keep reading for a review of Transformers: Galaxies #9.

I think this was a good wrap-up for this arc, but other than that I can’t say much without spoiling the ending. The story was straightforward, and reinforced the message about how everyone has the right to make their own decisions. There weren’t a lot of surprises this issue, everybody behaved exactly the way I’d expect them to. (Especially the Plenary, ugh. Someone needs to drop kick that guy into a black hole.)

I enjoy Beth McGuire-Smith’s art (though Arcee and Greenlight’s chins seemed to get longer and longer.) Her strength is in her huge, sweeping backgrounds, but there’s also a nice page with the Plenary, Gauge, Arcee and Greenlight: it’s an artistic representation of what’s going on in Gauge’s head, and it’s very nicely laid out.

My favorite image, though, is Sara Pitre-Durocher’s variant cover, featuring a grinning Gauge. It’s freaking adorable.
