So, you know, spoilers for just that one episode as we talk about the fact that Mother and Father don’t have pockets, and wonder who the heck scouted Kepler 22-b and decided that a planet with acid seas, gigantic holes to the core, and radioactive vegetables was somehow a good spot to revive the human race.

Correction: After review by an expert on history (ie: someone with more knowledge than us)(ie: Nathan), it turns out that there wasn’t a vaccine for the Spanish Flu, since at the time scientists were still looking for a bacterial cause instead of a virus. There WAS a vaccine for smallpox, and that’s what inspired some of the political cartoons about the dangers of anti-vax sentiment, like the one scanned from the 1930’s booklet Health In Pictures.
