Binary System Podcast #337: WTNV #217 “Salmon Burger” and Sandman

This week was one of those Night Vale recaps where we took way too many notes and got dangerously close to just repeating the episode word for word because it was so, freaking, CLEVER. (Station Management’s memo to Cecil about the stupid basement is the best.) We managed to stick to the highlights, but we went on frequent tangents about fish recipes, office blunders, replyallpocalypses, and the hive mind of the fan artists.

After that we talked about The School For Good and Evil (meh?), Stephen Fry as Fiddler’s Green (yay!), Christopher Walken in The Prophecy (skip past everything but him. And the coroner. Love a good coroner scene), dueling Black Panther reviews, and the Dragonfall Drawing Challenge.

This week’s outro is a clip from Black Lotus by Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio.

Lily Fox’s painting of Cecil was the first Night Vale fan art we saw (and indirectly responsible for us listening to Night Vale in the first place) and is a pretty good example of the Fan Art Hive Mind’s idea of Cecil.

Hugh’s review of Wakanda Forever is here, and David’s is here, both ends of the spectrum!

You can find the Dragonfall Drawing Challenge pics on instagram at @FandragonAdams or @Llyzabeth, or you can look up the #DragonfallDrawingChallenge hashtag to see several other artists in the last few years too.
