Binary System Podcast #388 – Lore Olympus episode 254 and 255, and the Doctor Who 60th Anniversary

Okay, not gonna lie, the latest two episodes of Lore Olympus that the Binary System Podcast team recaps are causing quite a lot of anxiety. Apollo’s plot to take over as ruler of Olympus is proving once again that Apollo will hurt anyone in order to get what he wants, and it’s stressful to imagine how he’s going to try to force Persephone to become his queen. It’s probably going to make it that much more satisfying when he gets his comeuppance, but still

Fortunately we follow that up with a recap of the fun, adorable, all-around goodhearted 60th Anniversary Doctor Who Special “The Star Beast”, featuring David Tenant stepping back into the role of the Doctor like he never left, and Catherine Tate with a resolution to an element of the Donna Noble storyline that always bothered us. We get into a big discussion about what we loved, what parts maybe didn’t work as well as we would like, trans representation, and how it’s possible to make mistakes when being an ally but still learn every day how to be better. (We also miffed The Meep’s quote, which we loved. Here’s a link to how it actually went, including the Doctor’s response, which, if anything, was even better.)
