The Oddities & Curiosities Expo was back in Del Mar this weekend; what a fantastically dark, weird, and beautiful art show. Fans of the macabre have a lot to choose from, including sculptures, prints, clothing, pottery, dolls, candles, and more. Including taxidermy. Fair warning if you’re not okay with taxidermy, this show is very well known for assemblage featuring animal skulls and other remains. Ethically sourced, according to the website, but heads up if that’s not your thing.
As an aside, this show is also known for some really excellent paintings, prints, and T-shirts, but because art theft is such a huge problem these days (including AI art theft) I try not to take photos of that. Take my word for it though, there is some gorgeous 2-D artwork at this show.
