Oh boy. People who have already seen the whole Better Call Saul series have probably been waiting for our reaction to this episode. People who haven’t seen it, strap in, because stuff happens in the Season 3 finale. Spoilers ahoy.
Last episode was about how well the characters mask their real feelings or intentions. This episode has an awful lot of sacrifice. It sure looked like Nacho was ready to sacrifice himself in order to take out Hector in a blaze of gunfire. And while that didn’t happen, we don’t think Nacho is in the clear yet. Meanwhile, Jimmy was willing to sacrifice his professional reputation to clean up his mess from last episode, Howard was willing to sacrifice his savings and financial stability to protect his law firm from Chuck, and Chuck…well. Chuck gave us all an object lesson in Dismantling One’s Entire Life, and if that was a sacrifice then it was a wasted one because he didn’t actually get anything in return.
In lighter news, we’ve got some Blockbuster nostalgia, a recommendation to watch the 2023 The Super Mario Bros Movie, and while you’re at it you might enjoy Chris Hardwick’s Nerdist Podcast interview with Chris Pratt (if you can get past having two somewhat problematic Chris’s in one interview).
