The beloved Web-Slinger swing back into theaters this May in Amazing Spider-man 2. With what’s shaping up to look more like a Sinister Six movie with the addition of B.J. Novak as Alistair Smythe, Peter Parker will definitely his hands full with Electro, Rhino, and as we saw more from this week’s Super Bowl trailer, Green Goblin. Maybe Sony is in a rush to reboot the franchise again so they’re skipping the beloved Spider-man 2 and going straight to the much despised Spider-man 3?
The Super Bowl’s fact cut trailer couldn’t do much for Spidey-fans other than show off more of what they already know, Peter’s troubled because it’s hard to be a hero and keep it a secret, but everyone already knew that. It’s not a bad trailer, it just doesn’t do anything for those of us who are still on the fence but you decide for yourself.

Sony was quick to follow up if a much longer trailer giving a better look at Electro and showing off a bit of his back story. The trailer is better but not good enough to muster up much excitement. What’s still missing is the plot, all we really know at this point is that Spidey will have to fight at least 2 1/2 of his greatest villains… come on, Rhino? Other than Pete crying about how hard it is to be him, what’s the big mystery of the film? The costume has been improved and Andrew Garfield is looking a little more natural in his incarnation of Peter Parker, so that’s something to enjoy.
