12 years ago, Ed Boon and John Tobias changed the fighting game world forever using realistic character models, next level violence, and the fan favorite aspect BLOOD! Since Midway Games debuted Mortal Kombat in arcades everywhere, it has been a staple among Street Fighter, Fatal Fury, and later fellow alum like Soul Calibur and Tekken.
Over the years MK has done well to stay one of the industry’s fan-favorites with few follies (*cough*MortalKombatMythologiesSubZero*cough*). And now with just a week away from E3, Warner Bros. has released a very simple trailer for their next edition, Mortal Kombat X… and they ain’t goin’ into space.
After Warner Bros. and NetherRealm’s last collaboration with Injustice, we’re definitely seeing that this marriage could garner amazing results. In fact, this trailer could very well be game footage in the hands of PS4 and XBox One consoles. We’re also seeing game mechanics that we’ve come to enjoy including the X-Ray Move and weapons, and of course it wouldn’t be Mortal Kombat without the fatalities.
