Anthem got a new trailer on Thursday at The Game Awards, giving players a small look at the story of the game. Apparently, we have no idea what the “Heart of Rage” can do to a person, and a new power is in the world, calling our friend. For generations, the folks of the Anthem world struggled to survive, until they built sweet Iron Man suits that let them beat the crap out of “the chaos.” The walls of the city protected their loved ones, but this eponymous “Anthem of Creation” is having a fit, and walls can only do so much against angry god-machines (and an invading army, from the looks of it.)
But fret not, because your friendly neighborhood spooky monologue-loving savior is here to end our suffering by harnessing the power of the Anthem; surely a man with a deep, rough voice and a suit that looks like the brainchild of Tony Stark and a Goa’uld won’t abuse his godlike powers!
Anthem’s story still remains a bit of a mystery, especially as this latest trailer seems to add more questions than answers. There is still precious few details about what this Anthem of Creation everyone is obsessed with is, and now a fittingly-spooky “Heart of Rage” has been thrown into the mix. However, at least we’ve gotten a glimpse of the mad man we’ll presumably be blowing to bits in just a few months!
