DesignerCon 2019 – Photo Gallery 1

It was another amazing year for artwork, custom figures, toys, sculptures, pins, stickers, clothing, and a lot more at DesignerCon 2019. Celebrating its second year in the Anaheim Convention Center, the convention featured over 300 artists and over 700 vendors, with artwork that covers the spectrum from cute to beautiful to to hilarious to grotesque and everything in between.

We always want to give credit where credit’s due: if we’ve tagged anyone incorrectly in these photos, please let us know so we can update the caption!

The convention seems to be settling in well to its new home in Anaheim. As an attendee, there’s a lot more room to move around without bumping into anyone, aside from one or two aisles that were a little narrower than others. A couple vendors had concerns about the “dead zones” in the room (aisles that were hidden behind large columns or large vehicles, or aisles that ended with blank black curtains, which can trick attendees into thinking there’s nothing at the end of the row, so some booths get less traffic.) And some attendees had a few problems with parking (due to competition with Disney.)

HOWEVER, no one I talked to seemed terribly unhappy this year, and anyone who attended the con two years ago in Pasadena remembers having to wait outside for over an hour after buying tickets because the fire marshal wasn’t letting anyone in, since the convention had hit max capacity. As an attendee, I’m very happy the convention has room to grow.
