Binary System Podcast #305: WTNV #203 “The Kareem Nazari Show” and Angel Heart

It’s another fun, short-story type of Welcome To Night Vale episode this week. This might be another good introductory episode for someone who isn’t familiar with Night Vale, even if they don’t know who Intern Nazari is, or what this conspiracy theory is about the moon not being real, or why people seem to have trouble pronouncing the word “Michigan”.

But what we really want to talk about is the 1987 horror movie “Angel Heart”, which Elizabeth watched this week for the first time in a long while, and which just so happened to turn 35 years old last Sunday. Listen in as we absolutely fail to give a coherent recap of this film, and instead talk about all the bits we liked and all the random digressions we wander off to as soon as we get distracted.

(Not kidding about the digressions, this episode shows a pretty good cross-section of our brains as we discuss (among other things): the NFL concussion scandal, an off-the-grid city in the Sonoran Desert, the temperature of the water at California beaches versus Florida beaches, that time we watched Gone With The Wind in history class, and some of the horror movies we watched a few decades ago in Elizabeth’s apartment in Asheville.)
