Binary System Podcast #373 – WTNV #231 “The Terminal” and Good Omens season 2 premiere

Hooray, everything’s back to “normal” in Night Vale! Science is legal again, the Weather is back, Dr. Janet Lubelle is…not technically gone from the city, but it’s fine.

Since so many people are thinking about celebrating with a vacation, Night Vale has now opened their first international airport, the Randy Newman Memorial Terminal! (Yes, Randy Newman is fine, settle down.) Following the Night Vale creators’ usual habit of echoing current events, travelers in the new airport are running into long lines, endless delays, and irritating TSA procedures that make us wonder if sacrificing a little freedom for some dubious safety is actually worth it and would making everyone take off their shoes really have made any difference if we’d thought of it sooner and you know what this is bumming us out maybe we should change the subject.

In lighter news, the BSP team have actually managed to be good at TV this week. Kathryn watched the first episode of The Mandalorian Season 3, Elizabeth finished watching the Andor series, and we’ve both watched the Season 2 premiere of Good Omens! Plus, we’ve both now finished the most recent issue of the Saga comic book series. Giant spoiler warnings for that one; not everyone survives this issue, and Brian K. Vaughan has figured out with surgical precision which character death will cause the most collateral damage. You have been warned.

This week’s outro is a clip from Cruising the Skyline by TeknoAXE.

Correction: The horned character in Saga who’s trying to avenge her lover is Petrichor. Sorry, Petrichor, we’re bad at names.
