The CW longest running DC Comics adaption show, Arrow, enters its 8thand final season on October 15th, but before you watch and cry as we say good bye to Oliver Queen and his band of merry archers, relive season seven with this new release of the Blu-ray, filled with tons of features and all 22 two episodes, including the three-part-crossover with Supergirl and The Flash.
Following Oliver Queen’s decision to turn himself over the FBI and reveal his identity as the Green Arrow to the public, Oliver has spent the past five months in prison while his team was left behind to protect Star City. Oliver has yet again turned into someone else inside Slabside Maximum Security Prison. Determined to keep a low profile to shorten his sentence for the sake of his family, Oliver’s limits will be tested when he and Team Arrow are pitted against the most ruthless villains they have yet to face.
It’s another long emotional ride for Team Arrow, as per usual for this show. Out of all the CW DC shows, Arrow is the one that never really has all the humor. It has its share of humorous moments of course, but they weigh heavy on the emotion here; Supergirl and The Flash have more humor vs the emotion trauma that Arrow seems to do better than the others. That’s most likely due to the character of Oliver Queen. He’s just not as upbeat as Barry or Kara. But that’s the reason fans love this show so much. It’s all the fun melodrama. And this season was no exception.
In this season we learn about Oliver’s half-sister (who ends up being the main villain for this season), watch Oliver’s arc over his prison stay, see Team Arrow growing into their own as a team, and of course say a sad goodbye to Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoke, who from all accounts will not be in the final season, but that could be a ruse for a surprise appearance at one point. Arrow’s final season is going to lead into the massive cross-over event where we as fans are pretty sure Oliver will sacrifice himself to save the universe, which will be a fitting ending to our beloved moody hero.
Arrow stars Stephen Amell (Green Arrow), Katie Cassidy (Black Siren), David Ramsey (John Diggle), Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity Smoke), Echo Kellum (Mr. Terrific), Rick Gonzalez (Wilf Dog), Juliana Harkavy (Black Canary) and Colton Haynes (Arsenal).
Arrow season seven contains all 22 one-hour episodes and the +2 crossover. Loaded with fun special features: Inside the Crossover: Elseworlds, Villains: Modes of Persuasion an in depth look at DC Villains, Best of Comic Con panels, Inside the Crossovers, gag reel and deleted scenes.
