Asus and PrimeSense Bring Kinect Tech to Your Living Room…Again.

With CES 2011 a few days away, we are getting a preview of the new toys that will be there.  Now, PrimeSense (who helped develop the Kinect) and Asus will debut their new WAVI Xtion.  Gathered from the presser, it will let you have hands-free control of the media extender.

Basically, the kit consists of two boxes and the sensor.  One box connects to your (Windows) PC, and the other box connects to your TV.  The boxes connect through proprietary 5Ghz wireless connection and from up to 25 feet away.

From the presser:

. . . the multinational computer and consumer electronics manufacturer, will introduce WAVI Xtion, a next generation user interface device that uses PrimeSense 3D motion sensor solutions to provide controller-free, intuitive living room experiences. Users can browse multimedia content, access the Internet and social networks, and full body interaction in a user-friendly and natural living room experience.
