Top 5 Games I’m excited to hear more about at E3 2011

E3 is almost upon us and gamers everywhere will soon be basking in the glow of all the E3 coverage they can handle. E3 is as big as it gets and all of the biggest games will be making an appearance at the show. With that in mind, here’s my Top 5 Games of E3.

5)Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Regardless of how you feel about the Call of Duty franchise, odds are good it’ll be one of the best selling titles of all time.

Arguably the biggest franchise of this generation, Call of Duty has won over legions of fans with the huge set-pieces in their single player and with their addictive and groundbreaking online play. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 looks to continue the success of its predecessors.

Gamers everywhere will be looking for how well the remains of Infinity Ward can do with the newest COD title.

4)Gears of War 3

Much like the first Halo legitimized the original Xbox in the eyes of many gamers, Gears of War helped ensure the success of the Xbox 360. With the very successful beta having just wrapped up, Epic Games has a lot of momentum heading into this year’s E3. With the release date of the next Gears inching ever closer, millions of fans eagerly await their chance to see how the story ends.

3)Mass Effect 3

Commander Shepherd and his crew have been through a lot together. The outer-space setting and fun, accessible combat style have won Bioware many fans for what has become their most recognizable franchise.

The first two Mass Effects were genre-bending smashes, raking in countless awards. Everyone is looking to Bioware to create another masterpiece. With their track record, I have a feeling they will.

2)Uncharted 3

Uncharted has been a success for Sony from day one. The first Uncharted was among the strongest launch titles the Playstation 3 had to offer and the second Uncharted won just about every award possible.

With their trademark flair for the cinematic and rock-solid gameplay Naughty Dog has created one of this generation’s greatest franchises. With the third Uncharted involving yet another mysterious treasure, and this time with some beautiful desert locales, this fantastic new franchise looks like it will continue its excellent run.

1)Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim

Bethesda’s flagship title is back, and it looks like it is going to be bigger and better than ever. The game looks beautiful, courtesy of a brand-new engine (about time after the glitch New Vegas). Gamers everywhere are ready to jump head first back into the world of Oblivion. With the new features and the ability to have random encounters with dragons, this game can not get here soon enough.
