E3 Rumors and Predictions: Sony

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, E3, is less than 3 weeks away and rumors about new IPs, release dates, and new services have been running rampant.

It was bound to happen, but apparently the entirety of Sony’s press conference has been leaked online. An anonymous source detailed a ton of rumors to DualShockers.com, and they were kind enough to let us all take a look at it.  Although, nothing is 100% confirmed to be true as of yet, the leaked information on the conference is still pretty interesting to look at. Personally, a lot of the things listed on the rumor list is exactly what I would predict or like to see. So let’s take a look shall we?

Uncharted PS4 will get a 3 minute trailer that’ll showcase “in-engine” footage with gameplay segments squeezed in. It’ll also show how good a game could look on next gen hardware and will get a Summer 2015 release window.

– Media Molecule is going to show a new title designed for Morpheus. Think Little Big Planet but first person. Release window sometime in late 2015.

Gran Turismo 6 is coming to PS4 will increased resolution and framerate, 1080p and 60FPS. Mid-late 2015 release window.

– God of War 4 teaser. Release window late 2015

– Sony Bend will reveal a reboot for Syphon Filter. Release window Winter 2014.

– The Wipeout series is coming to PS4.

– Quantic Dream will have a trailer for something.

– Ready at Dawn will showcase a stage demo for The Order 1887.

– Ninja Theory will reveal a new PS4 exclusive, hopefully a Heavenly Sword sequel.

– Sony London will reveal a new IP.

– Guerilla Games reveals the RPG they’ve been working on.

– Sony Japan Studios reveal what Project Beast is, possibly a Demon Souls spiritual successor.

– The Last Guardian possibly makes an appearance.

Drive Club will get some stage time and a demo will be released at the same time as the conference.

In addition to all of the rumors above, a bunch of the big third-party publishers will get some time on stage. So that’s some pretty crazy stuff there. A lot of the rumors are so incredibly specific it makes it difficult to actually determine what is real and what is fake.

Although, I think it’s pretty safe to assume Uncharted and God of War are definitely going to be at E3. Morpheus will have a few titles announced for it. The Order 1887 will actually be there and get a release date for this year. I’m not sure about the Heavenly Sword thing, but that would be an awesome addition to the PS4. And the whole thing about The Last Guardian has become a joke over the years, but I still think that game will see the light of day. Hopefully that’s this year.

For me, it’s kind of hard to disagree with a huge portion of it because Sony has a ton of first party studios that haven’t released anything in a few years so it’s likely that this will be the best time for them to reveal what they’ve been working on.
