Following the release of the Batman vs. Superman teaser trailer last April, fans have speculated wildly about the plot to the movie. Today at the Las Vegas Licensing Expo 2015, Warner Bros. released an official plot synopsis.
According to comicbooknews.com and cosmicbooknews.com, here’s the official synopsis:
Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
As synopses go, they aren’t giving us much. A recurring theory among fans has been that Batman is out to take Superman down in retaliation for the appalling destruction of several cities when Superman battled Zod. The official release doesn’t confirm or deny that theory, but the “new threat” would certainly be the catalyst to put two of DC’s biggest heroes on the same side again.
