Since we’ve got a little breathing space between Infinity War and…everything else that’s coming out this year, let’s take a look at three movies that flew in under the radar. Guest writer thenoshitmoviecritic reviews Deep Blue Sea 2, Hurricane Heist, and Peter Rabbit.
Deep Blue Sea 2
This 94 minute, longer than needed, sci-fi action horror is rated R for violence instead of nudity or anything else good. The prerequisite requirement for having seen Renny Harlin’s Deep Blue Sea (1999) is zero.
This movie is a typical stereotype creature feature, and although the acting could be thought of as poor, it isn’t overall poor entertainment considering the script the cast worked with. TV’s Michael Beach assists the entertainment value, but likely not enough to keep it out of the cheese factory. Nonetheless, a little cheese can sometimes be a good menu change.

Hurricane Heist
For the most part Maggie Grace from the TV series Lost and Californication is the only familiar face in this 103 minute, PG action thriller. With an estimated $35 million production budget, it’s hard to call this a low budget project, but it humorously doesn’t command the seriousness it intended. The name pretty much sums up what to expect. However the natural disaster components are greatly exaggerated and the storyline is hyped with unnecessary testosterone-fueled dialogue, cheesed up with inauthentic acting. On a positive note, it is an action flick that requires little to no brain cells if vegging out with no expectations is on your agenda.

Peter Rabbit
As one might expect, this CGI hybrid, 95 minute, PG family flick is only loosely based on the 19th century Beatrix Potter books. Despite the fact that everything James Corden voices tends to hit some potholes, this one bounced back pretty well. It is humorous for adults and entertaining for kids. Well done. A keeper. Recommended.
