Comic Issues #242 – Weird comic books and geek TV (perfect weekend)

The plan for this week was to talk about the Harvey Awards, Crane Con 2015, and the books we read this week. And we mostly did that! But we also kept getting derailed by all the geek TV we’re trying to watch, like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Doctor Who, Arrow, Flash, The Dollhouse, The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, and Gotham.

But we eventually get back to Mythic #4, Fury #1, Years of Future Past #5, Grayson #12, and the excellently disturbing Gotham by Midnight #9, with art by the amazing Juan Ferreyra.

Review – Gotham Season 1

While Comic Book movies have been all the rage, it’s good to see them finally making the transition to television. Marvel has Agents of Shield, DC is absolutely killing it with Arrow and the Flash. As we await Supergirl to make her grand appearance I felt it was time to catch up on a show I largely missed; Gotham season 1 makes its debut on Blu Ray – and I went on a binge watch. So how does Gotham stack up against other DC TV shows?

Comic Issues #210 – Spider-man returns to Thor Wars by Midnight

The Amazing Spider-man has come home to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and geeks everywhere are rejoicing on the streets of the Internet.  Elizabeth was found drunk on Buzzfeed filling out random surveys and Anthony was caught streaking through the HTML of the site and writing about how he wants to kill Peter Parker!

Comics Issues #199 – The One Before 200

HAVE YOU SEEN THAT STAR WARS EPISODE VII TEASER!! Yeah, you probably have, but here it is again *Lightsaber Noise*.  This week Anthony and Elizabeth have full on nerdgasms over the just released teaser and all of its tri-saber, rollie droid, X-Wing water skimming goodness!!  The future is looking bright for a galaxy far far away!  Too bad for dinosaur theme parks aren’t having as good of a time.  The Jurassic World trailer also sent ripples through the glass of water that is this podcast.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has exploded in prime time and comic book nerds around the world have rejoiced.  Now your favorite agents Anthony, Andrew, and Elizabeth have gathered to discuss what they thought of Marvel’s new hit show.  Where they want to see it go.  And what the hell happened to Coulson!?

Not to be out done, DC has announced plans to create a new show based on a young Jame Gordon in Gotham.  Listen as Andrew and Elizabeth explain to Anthony why it’s a great idea and listen as Anthony sparks the great debate, can Gotham exist with Batman’s presence?

Gotham City Impostors Trailer

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment released a new trailer for the forthcoming download-only, multiplayer first-person shooter, Gotham City Impostors. The game uniquely allows players to customize their own toons and impersonate their favorite heroes or villains. The game also includes exotic customization options which allow you to choose from bizarre costumes, unique gadgets, and well-known and creative weapons. Gotham City Impostors is set to release in the winter 2012 for $15 or 1200 Microsoft points.
