And just like the last few years, we are kicking it up a notch here at Movie Issues HQ as we get into the season of horror by watching all sorts of spooky things this month. Starting the season off just right with 1993 favorite Halloween flick, Hocus Pocus, where three witches are brought back to life for one night accidently by Max, a foolish teenager. The witches will stop at nothing to suck the lives out of all the children in Salem unless Max and his group of friends can stop them. NERDS LIKE US: A Midnight Movie Experience

Star Wars hit theaters in 1977 and lines wrapped around theaters consistently, full of fans waiting for the chance to see a cinematic marvel… I wasn’t born yet. Ghostbusters debuted and quickly became a phenomenon in June of ’84… I wasn’t even 2 yet. And when Batman blew Bat-Fans minds in ’89 I was just a 7 year old little spookling… I never got to see it in theaters, until now.

Being born in the 80’s definitely seems to carry some sort of prestige, but unfortunately it means that many were too young to see the movies they now can quote at the drop of a hat. The experience of a theater full of excited movie goers is lost on them. That is unless they live in the Southern California area and follow NERDS LIKE US. A midnight movie series where die hard fans gather to see the movies they love in a way that some have never had the chance.

Best Movies for Halloween

We talked last time about some great Halloween-themed TV shows. So this time, we’re going to talk about the Halloween movies.

Now, I will miss some big ones. NOT to fear! It’s not because they’re not awesome; I’ll just be talking about the ones that have meant something to me over the years.  Some of these I have grown up watching every year and they have become more than just films to me. If I don’t see them every year around this time it just doesn’t feels right.

Hopefully, some of these are your favorites too, or they give you some ideas for your movie nights in the future.
