Special rewards in video games are a great way for developers to increase the replay value of their games. Usually, these rewards are unlocked by accomplishing something special, like beating the game on a certain difficulty level, killing a certain number of enemies, or a multitude of different in game challenges. Sometimes, these rewards can be comical in nature. Other times, they can be a beneficial aide in tackling harder difficulty levels. And, in certain cases, they do both. In Dead Space 2‘s case, one such weapon is so ridiculous, it’s almost hard to believe.
Introducing the Hand Cannon, unlockable by completing the game on Hardcore Mode. It’s hard to look at the thing and not fall over laughing. However, from the looks of things, it makes a pretty effective weapon. Either that, or Isaac Clarke really has lost his mind and this is just one big hallucination. See for yourselves.
